About La Sunamite Foundation
Who we are
LaSunamite Foundation (LaSuF) is a Calgary-based nonprofit empowering Francophone youth and strengthening vulnerable, diverse communities through education, mentorship, leadership, inclusion and community support.
Our story
Safe spaces where young people are seen, heard and encouraged.
Guided by love, compassion, collaboration and integrity, we work with youth, families and community partners to create sustainable, positive change. We believe in the future generation — and we work to guarantee their rights “without any discrimination”.
We are a nonprofit based in Calgary, Alberta, with operations in Canada and the Democratic Republic of Congo — providing the resources, support and opportunities Francophone youth and communities need to reach their highest potential.

Offering training and opportunities to develop leadership skills, empowering youth to inspire and guide others.
Promoting civic engagement
Encouraging participation in community and civic life while celebrating the achievements of Black Francophone youth.
Our values
What guides everything we do
Love, compassion, collaboration and integrity sit at the heart of LaSuF — and show up in how we work with youth, families and partners.
Supportive
We create a nurturing environment where Black Francophone youth feel valued and encouraged. Through mentorship, resources and a network of support, we help them navigate challenges and reach their full potential.
Integrity
We conduct our work with honesty and transparency, building trust and credibility within the community and with the partners who support us.
Resilience
We support youth in developing resilience, helping them overcome challenges and thrive in new environments.
Collaboration
We work hand-in-hand with youth, families and community partners to create sustainable, positive change in Calgary and in the DRC.
We work in two communities. One shared purpose.
Community programs in Calgary, Canada — and humanitarian, community-development work in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo. Both built on the same love and integrity.
